MY name is Cliff Tomkulak I have been working on and off the internet for 10 years. I have been involved in programs Like pre paid legal Melaluka and numerous others. I started my business career in 1988 in an import export business at that time the only way to get customers was to knock on doors or businesses the internet has changed all that. I am not going to give you a bunch of bull I am not a college dropout in fact I graduated with a 3.6 GPA I was the leader of a Student Association and worked my but off in my off line career for 16 years. The other hype I hear all the time is how people started and in 30 days are making thousands bull I say yes it may happen to some if they hit the right niche at the right time but overall it take some work. Now if you want to know where I came from then you can watch a video on my blog as I take a drive through where I used to live I am not going to bore you with that at this time. if you want to see if visit the blog it's on the left hand side way down towards the bottom now. Now I am a real person and get a little upset with all the crap that is out there and I have downloaded my share so I hope in this PDF I can cover some of the basics and also what I have learned from some of the big dogs on the marketing seen these are guys that don't make thousands they make millions. Ok this is my last little yapping for now and I will get into the other stuff if any one says it does not take work they are full of it once you set up it may only take you a few hours a day to update your blogs and do some checking on your links. This is for Newbie's that want to start with affiliate marketing
I am not going give you a big speech this is free and it is a free way to get started in Affiliate marketing. The hard part is that there are so many affiliate programs out there that I cannot be sure what type of program you are into so I am going to make this very generic.
OK so what do you want to market do you want to market main stream items for big companies or do you want to market affiliate products from Amazon or Click Bank or Commission Junction that's the part that makes this hard to write because I don't know what you want or what you are doing now so I will just go with what I am doing and how I am doing it take bits and pieces that fit for you and you feel you can make them work and use them.
Ok the basics first you need to decide on what you want to promote. A few questions for you
1 what do you know about? (not really necessary you can promote whatever just trying to get you to think in regards to a niche)
ok now this may sound really stupid to some but a niche is something like weight loss for instance and below that would be sub niches like diets or even nutrition and they can branch off to even exercise. ok so that's the basic of what a niche is it can be financial ,internet soft ware, internet marketing , clothing, family, dog training whatever below is an example from click bank of some of the categories now remember for every niche there may be a sub niche

Ok so this is Click bank and a great way to get started you can sign up for free go through the categories and decide what suits you but wait to be successful there are a few other things you should do one is go to Google keyword tool and type in the phrase or keyword of your niche it will tell you how many people are even looking for that type of product or service. if you want to see a small video with the basics then again go to my blog and they are there for you this is something you should be doing no matter what product or service you are promoting.
ok so now you have done some research you want to try to use the top term or key word in your title of your site blog whatever. you also want to visit the top sites in the niche and right click and view source what you are looking for is the meta tags key words and descriptions now not to get you all frustrated but the fact is some sites use java and other forms of code that might make it difficult to find them they should be on top below the head tags here is an example
now this site has it on top but they are not all like that what you need to do once more is search for something a site in your niche and when you're on the page right click and view source study it especially if it is in the top rankings can you utilize some of the key words in your title? in your discretion
ok so you have did some research and have decided that you are going to promote a special niche now there are a few ways you can do this some cost money others or free I am going to briefly talk about the two I personally do both but you can do this for free if you like with blogs and blogs are highly rated so don't count them out. now the one trap you do not want to get into and I will use blogger as an example of this is the purpose of the blogs is to send traffic to your affiliate link or main site I have had two blogs shut down because they were sending traffic to one of my other blogger blogs so my suggestion is use three different blogs wordpress is free blogger is free and even MySpace you can use what you want these are just example do some research for yourself and find the ones that fit you best. How to set up the blogs (if they are on different blog platforms like one wordpress one blogger one MySpace) all of them are easy to sign up for and use.(ask your kids) now note that on some blogs they don't let you do the meta tags but that's were you have to work on your description and make it the best you can.
ok for just the sake of an sample we will say you have decided to go into the niche of cars (only an example)

Every back link you can get to your main page with the offer is great video marketing is great have a web cam then use it put up videos on You Tube and other video spots use the annotations to give information or just mention your main site or affiliate site.
Domains now lots of people have different ideas about this what is the best way how to do it should I have a hosting account ect... now if you are going to have stuff to put up besides your blogs them maybe it's worth it if you're starting on a small budget you can get a domain name for you blogger blog from Google for 10 bucks for one year I am not going to go into the big domain pitch because the truth is I don't know if you need it or not I do suggest that your main blog is with blogger and that you spend 10 bucks to register that domain. if you look on you tube I am sure you will find a free video on how to register a domain name and get hosting I am not going goat you into using any one service but do yourself a favour and do some research.
ok now for example only you don't need to click on any of my products unless you feel like it and be aware that yes I may make some money if you purchase one of the products but you don't have to I am using this as a means of what I am promoting and why. I can tell you that the programs I promote are done for a reason my blog is to help affiliate so the programs on my blog are to give additional training and gain more traffic.
now on my blog my niche is for IM marketing so I offer high end products for a few reasons
1 products that will help people with their business gain more prospects or gain more traffic or both
2 they are high end products which means that the payoff is greater that simple
3 if you every want to be a super affiliate or have a super affiliate promote your product you need to get noticed and to get noticed you need to send traffic to their programs the way it works in the inner circle of IM masters or super affiliates or gurus however you want to state it is if you promote their product and give it an effort when you have a product or service to promote they may be willing to push a button and help you out but you need to earn their respect. Now that being said there are also a lot of fly by night so called gurus or they want to promote them self's as super recruiters or whatever some may be other are just selling hype. I have said this many times before also ducks fly with ducks and eagles sore with eagles my motivation is to sore with Eagles and the people that I personally follow have one thing in common to give great content and give something back.

Mike Dillard has been a top recruiter for a long time and knows his stuff and offer great content
Jeff Johnson is a master of traffic and always gives great content in his videos and not only great content at times a road map to follow
The latest product I am promoting I also think has great content but it also has an opportunity for affiliates to make big money but also to have a chance for some fantastic prizes and a trip to Nectar island . The guys that are doing this you might get some of the names Keith Baxter, Jon Shugart, Joey Smith, & Don Bethune and the prizes and opportunity is what every big time marketer looks for. Now think about this even if you don't have a huge list these guys know who their affiliates are you don't become a super affiliate over night it takes some time and effort but if you can reach that pinnacle what's the saying oh ya your in the money!! is that not worth working towards. ok I am not going sell you into the tools I use to promote or whatever if you would like to know then please leave a comment with the subject line cliff let me know and I will be happy to tell you.
