I just watched a video that made me think and ask myself a question? who is my ideal ? who gives me motivation? I have many in my life and that's for sure My Bro best friend My brothers who have both went through allot in their life. My wife who stands by me not matter what I do and also deals with all the other stuff in life that gets thrown at you, all of my kids My son who put himself through school in Calgary at Devry university My Mom who I love dearly and has had to struggle most of her life into her golden years. My daughters who are great mothers and wife's and make sure their children are going to have a good life. All of these people inspire me in one way or the other sometimes because of what they have gone though and accomplished some times because of their strong determination and strength sometimes just because they have turned out the way they did into decent loving people.
I must say though one of my greatest inspirations over the last 12 years has been my daughter Shauna she just does not give up. She has good days and bad days and sometimes needs to pull herself up and get going again but she does. What's so special about that lots of people do it. Well again its because of who she is, She was born premature and with cerebral palsy and has endured many operations on her legs. She had to go through school feeling different even though the family would not allow for self pity and she was involved in many actives her mom wanted to make sure she had the most normal life she could have. She was told she would not be able to graduate from school but graduated from grade 12.
She had a few jobs and decided she would go back to school She went to a bible college and also graduated but had to endure yet another thing in her life. She enjoyed it as they went to Vancouver and worked with street workers and social workers, then it was off to Mexico to work with habitat for humanity that's when it happened. Shauna fell and it was hard enough that if caused her retina to detach. She has had to deal with so much she did not even tell us of the pain she was in or what happened for about a week after she got home. she went through several eye surgeries to try to reattach the Retina however they were unsuccessful. During this time she was determined to go to school and registered at Grant McEwen to take a rehabilitation practitioners program. It was too difficult for her to continue as she was waiting for more surgery so she had to give up that goal for a time. Since that time she has had to have her eye removed and fitted with a pros tic and endure some more surgery.
Last month she register for school once more, and is more determined than ever to complete this. I have to be honest I don't know how she feels no matter how I try to be a 25 year old women dealing with her disabilities trying to live a normal social life she has courage beyond my understanding.
who inspires you?
See you on the other side of the Web
