Ok well it was asked and on the right side of the page there is a little picture with a description of what I do, and were I came from, but due to its size it's hard to read so I thought I would right this up briefly. I am 48 off line I am a delegated social worker. I am off work now due to stress related issues it would take too long to go into detail of the stress that any one working in protective services goes through, from having to remove children from unsafe homes, to working with families with long history of abuse of every nature. Just so people know the job it’s self is not easy to get as you need first the schooling but also relative background and knowledge. You have to go through a screening process and complete a form that checks your background and also submit a police check to ensure you have never been involved in a negative way with the law. OK so for me, it was a challenge to even think I would ever complete school including a grade twelve because in grade 7 myself and my mother were told that it was no use in me attending school as I would never learn academically. At the time it was not noticed but I had a learning disability that hindered my writing abilities and as we all know that's a huge part of school and getting good grades. My first job was at a bottle depot for 1 buck per hour I am not going to bore you with the tons of jobs I had until one day In 1987 I decided to start a business with someone who I thought knew what they were doing and would not mess me around I was wrong . I was at the lowest of lows because my common law wife had had enough of living with a loser and moved on with my kids. at that time it was time for a decision to be made so I applied for upgrading at a Vocational College and it was not long before I started to do really well within 6 months I was the president of the student association and was involved in high level meetings with government officials regarding Adult learning. I had the opportunity to go to the legislation and be awarded with Alberta's adult learning award and an award for endeavour. (I am not telling anything to brag just to prove someone from the lowest economic lifestyle can be successful) I went from a basic grad 3(so I guess they were right in grade 7 I never learned anything) to grade 12 in 3 years then do to the work I did at the school it was suggested I apply to Grant McEwen which I did I really did not think I would get into the program as there were 345 applicants and they only accepted 40 but I did completed my courses in Child and Youth Care and went on in the field that was in 1995 I have been very successful and have worked as a program manager supervisor and caseworker. I have always been interested in home business and the internet for sure and have on and off played with internet business now I am at the point where I am deciding that I will make this my next success. OK so that's a little about me and I hope it did not bore you too much but I thought it would help you get to know me a little the other important things are my family I have 6 great kids and 4 super grand kids a beautiful wife and a great life.
